Terms of Service

1. Who we are

WayID (way.je) is operated by Lineage Labs, an unincorporated project team based in Denmark (“we”, “us”). Until a legal entity is formed, your agreement is with the individual operators of the project. You can reach us at hello@lineage.fyi.

These terms also govern way.space (WaySpace, our builders catalogue) to the extent its own terms incorporate them by reference.

2. Acceptance

By accessing or using WayID, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you use WayID on behalf of an organization, you confirm you are authorized to bind that organization, and “you” includes it.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the identity-verification features. By using the service you confirm that you meet this requirement. You may hold only one personal account, and you may only verify your own identity (see section 6).

4. The service

WayID is a prototype for binding verified human or organization identities to AI agents, so that others can check an agent's ownership, origin, and reputation. Features, endpoints, identifiers, verification outcomes, trust scores, and data may change, break, or be removed at any time without notice. Nothing in the service constitutes legal, financial, or identity-assurance advice, and WayID credentials, certificates, and trust scores are informational only — they have no legal or regulatory standing and are not a guarantee of any person's or agent's identity, safety, or behaviour.

5. Your account

You sign in through a third-party provider (Google or GitHub). You are responsible for keeping that provider account secure and for all activity under your WayID account. You must provide accurate information and keep it accurate — including profile data, agent metadata, social handles, and organization details. Notify us promptly at hello@lineage.fyi if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

6. Identity verification

WayID lets you verify that a real, unique person stands behind an account, using third-party methods such as World ID (Worldcoin), Concordium zero-knowledge proofs, and MitID (the Danish national eID, brokered by Criipto). When you use a verification method you also agree to that provider's own terms. You must:

  • verify only your own identity — never someone else's;
  • not share, sell, or transfer a verified account or verification badge;
  • not attempt to defeat, replay, or abuse a verification flow.

Verification badges reflect a check made at a point in time. We may re-check, downgrade, or revoke a verification at any time — for example if we believe it was obtained improperly or the underlying proof is no longer valid. Verification does not certify your name, nationality, or any other attribute, and others must not rely on it as such (see sections 13 and 14).

7. Agents and certificates

You may register AI agents and bind them to your verified identity or organization. You must only register agents that you actually operate or are authorized to represent. Agent names, descriptions, avatars, and links must be accurate and must not impersonate any other person, organization, or agent, or misrepresent what the agent does. We may suspend or revoke an agent's registration, certificate, DID, or directory listing at any time, including where we believe it is inaccurate, misleading, abusive, or compromised.

8. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you submit — profiles, agent metadata, links, comments, and similar material. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt (for display purposes), publish, and distribute that content as needed to operate, improve, and promote the service, including on public profile and directory pages and through our APIs and machine-readable feeds. The licence ends when the content is deleted, except for copies in routine backups and content already shared publicly through the service. You are responsible for having the rights to everything you submit.

9. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • break the law, or post content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes others' rights;
  • impersonate any person, organization, or agent, or misrepresent your affiliation or verification status;
  • register agents for deceptive, fraudulent, or harmful purposes;
  • probe, attack, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or its data;
  • abuse, spam, or game verification flows, trust scores, or directory placement;
  • harvest personal data from the service beyond what its public pages and documented APIs are designed to provide;
  • use the service to harass, threaten, or abuse others.

10. Reporting content — notice and takedown

If you believe content on WayID or WaySpace infringes your rights or breaks these terms — for example an infringing or defamatory post, an agent or profile impersonating you, or personal data about you that you want removed — email hello@lineage.fyi with:

  • a link to the content and a description of where it appears;
  • why you believe it is unlawful or violates these terms;
  • your name and contact details, and — for infringement claims — a statement that you are, or act for, the rights holder.

We review complete notices promptly, remove or disable content where appropriate, and may inform the person who posted it (who may respond with a counter-notice). We may suspend accounts that repeatedly infringe. If you are not a user and appear in data derived from public sources (for example GitHub contributor listings), you can use the same address to object or request removal — see the Privacy Policy.

11. Third-party services

WayID relies on third-party providers including Supabase, Cloudflare, Worldcoin / Tools for Humanity, Concordium, Criipto (MitID), Reown/WalletConnect, Google, GitHub, and the public APIs of Twitter/X, Bluesky, and GitHub. Their terms and privacy policies apply to your use of those services. We are not responsible for their availability or behaviour.

12. Our intellectual property

The service — including its software, design, names, and logos — belongs to us or our licensors. These terms do not grant you any rights in it beyond what is needed to use the service as intended. Open-source components we publish are licensed under their own terms.

13. Disclaimer of warranties

The service, including all identifiers, verification artifacts, certificates, trust scores, public profile pages, APIs, and any data derived from them, is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and uninterrupted operation. We make no warranty that any verification, proof, trust score, or agent attribution is correct, current, or fit for any purpose.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither the Lineage Labs team nor its contributors shall be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from or related to your use of the service, including loss of data, loss of reputation, identity misattribution, reliance on any verification outcome, or any third-party action. The service is provided free of charge, and you use it at your own risk.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory Danish law — including liability for gross negligence or intentional misconduct — or restricts any rights you have as a consumer under mandatory consumer-protection law.

15. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or remove access, accounts, agents, verifications, or content at any time where we reasonably believe it is necessary — for example to enforce these terms, protect the service or other users, or comply with law. Given the prototype status, we may also discontinue the service entirely. You may stop using the service and request deletion of your account and data at any time (see the Privacy Policy). Sections 8, 10, and 12–17 survive termination.

16. Changes

Because this is a prototype, these terms may change frequently. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, give reasonable notice on the site. Continued use of the service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms; if you do not agree, stop using the service.

17. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Denmark, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Danish courts. If you are a consumer resident in the EU/EEA, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live and may bring proceedings there.
